Maple Grove Farmers Market Open This Season!

The Maple Grove Farmers Market is pleased to announce that the growing season has NOT been cancelled in 2020! Our farmers, orchardists, beekeepers, and food artisans are busy preparing for another bountiful season at the market.

Farmers markets have been deemed an essential source of nutritious food during the COVID-19 pandemic, and we look forward to welcoming you each Thursday afternoon from May 14 through October 22 at the Maple Grove Community Center. Market hours are 3-7 p.m. May through September, and 3-6 p.m. in October.

Our market staff has been working with Maple Grove public safety officials, Hennepin County Public Health, and the Minnesota Farmers Market Association to ensure that our operations achieve the highest standards for safety. We’ve exchanged ideas and resources with farmers markets around Minnesota and across the country, and we’re excited to welcome you back.

Here is what you can expect:

  • The market will now feature two entrances—look for the big green flags! One-way foot traffic will guide you past all of our vendor booths and make it easier to maintain appropriate 6-foot physical distancing. For those who utilize handicapped parking, we recommend parking near the crossroads of Community Center Drive and Grove Drive and using the curb cuts to enter the market at its Northeast corner.

  • We’re encouraging everyone to allow seniors and those with health concerns to shop from 3-3:30 p.m. If you’re normally an “early bird” and do not fit into one of those categories, please shop a little later than is your habit to help reduce congestion. Designate just one shopper from your household—this will also help us to reduce crowding.

  • We’re saying a temporary “goodbye” to the market as a social gathering place and renewing our “hello!” as your outdoor grocery store. Children’s programming, Frequent Shopper Rewards, and live music are temporarily on hold. Please know that we’re working to bring them back just as soon as it’s safe to do so.

  • Vendor tents will be placed farther apart and you’ll find directional arrows and chalk marks on the pavement to facilitate 6’ spacing. Look for handwash stations and hand sanitizer throughout the market.

  • Per the Minnesota Department of Agriculture, all food items are “to go” only. No eating will be allowed in the market.

  • New this season: the market has created a list of vendors who are able to accept your pre-orders. Contact them before market day to purchase your favorite items and pay remotely. Your items will be ready for contactless pickup on market day. Learn more by visiting

We’re excited to feature nearly 50 local farmers and food makers this season. We invite you to sign up for our weekly emails and follow along on Facebook and Instagram as we share their stories. It’s our hope that the flavors of Minnesota will bring joy and satisfaction to this strangest of all summer seasons. Thanks for your ongoing support of the Maple Grove Farmers Market.
